Turkey Day!

This year we spent Thanksgiving day in Bristow at Clint's parent's house. We enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner then headed to the city park.

I had to work that Friday but was able to get off in time to get home and watch the big game! #1 LSU vs #3 Arkansas!!! I thought we would have a really good chance at winning this game. I knew it wasn't going to be easy, but I had faith in my beloved Hogs! However, LSU's defence dominated and they came away with the win.

The next day my mom and sister came up. We were going to have a little Thanksgiving dinner at my house that evening, but first we were going to look at wedding dresses! I had an appt on Sunday at David's Bridal but just wasn't looking forward to it. I'd heard several bad experiance stories from there so was really hoping I would find one Saturday. I did! It's a Maggie Sorrtero gown and pretty much everything I thought I didn't want! Haha! However, I put it on and knew it was my dress! I'm so glad I have that marked off my to do list!

At the beginning of the year, Clint decided he was going to run the White Water Marathom for Kenya. This marathon takes place in the town his father grew up in and where his extended family still lives. We rented a little place on the White River, like literally a couple hundred of feet from the river bank! It was the cutest place ever! We're all hoping to take another vacation there during a future summer so we can do some fishing and swimming!

We got up early Saturday morning and got ready to head down to where the marathon was taking place. Clint, Jake, and Tamara were already there and running. Gracyn wanted to head down and look at the river before we left.

We all cheered them on as they came thru the mid-way point. Gracyn had her pom poms and sign ready to go. We kept telling her to look for Daddy and that he was on his way. She was super excited til he passed her. She couldn't understand why he would just run past her. She cried so hard. It was so sad.

We went back to the cabin and Gracyn took a nap while the rest of ate some lunch. Clint's Aunt Cathy, Uncle Dale, and Grandma were all there to see him. A few hours later we got our jackets back on and headed back down to see Clint and Jake finish.

Once we got back to the cabin it was gametime! The Hogs were playing Mississippi State. We cheered on the Hogs while Clint slept during the first half. That evening, Clint's mom made dinner for all the Thomas family. Clint's uncles and aunts came over and we just enjoyed time with family. We all stayed up late watching football. The #2, #4, #5 time all lost that night which moved the Hogs to #3 in the BCS poll! Woo Pig!!!

On the actual day of Gracyn's 2nd birthday we took her out to eat then to Build a Bear. She choose to make a brown bunny....that roars. Yes, that is right. The bunny roars like a lion. She loves it though! Bun E. and Meow are Gracyn's best friends!

I decided to do a monkey/banana theme for Gracyn's 2nd birthday party. The girl LOVES bananas so why not?! I started getting ideas a couple of months ago but time kind of snuck up on me. I didn't start getting things together til the week before. I felt like it turned out very nicely though. We decided to keep it small since we are saving up for the wedding (that's so weird to say.) All that matters is that Gracyn had a wonderful time...which I think she did!

After last year's cake fiasco, I decided to give Shelby Lynn's another chance....they did not disappoint! I was very happy with the cake. At least the pink was actually pink, not maroon!

Gracyn has such wonderful family and friends that came to share her birthday party with her. She got some fun gifts that she plays with every night! Thanks to everyone that came! We love you all!

Yo Gabba Gabba!

Gracyn LOVES Yo Gabba Gabba! The first time we watched it, Clint and I were like, "Whoa, this show is weird and she isn't allowed to watch it." Then before we knew it YGG became a family favorite! I still think it's an odd show, but it teaches good life lessons to kids and the songs are very catchy.

When I heard Yo Gabba Gabba Live was coming to Tulsa I was so excited and just had to take Gracyn! Even if it meant missing the homecoming game. Katie was just as excited about taking Caroline....so the outfit planning began! : )

Katie, Eric, and Caroline got to the house about 9:30. Eric and Clint were planning on spending the day together watching football then heading over to the stadium to watch the Hogs take on South Carolina. Us girls headed out to Tulsa. First stop...Cheesecake Factory! MY FAVORITE!!!

We were a few minutes late to the show. Once we got there and got sat down Gracyn was wide eyed and in awe of what she saw on stage! After a few minutes, I stood her up on the ground and all of sudden she was doing the, "Jump, Shake, Shimmy them Out!" dance! Her and Caroline loved it!

After the show, we stood in line to get them a YGG toy and a concert tee. This was a little stressful. The girls were full of energy and just wanted to run around! Needless to say, they were crashed  out on the way home!

So....for those of  you who might find this funny. Eric insisted that we use Katie's GPS on her phone to get us there and back. I wrote directions out on how to get there, but not how to get back. Katie's GPS got us there just fine so I figured we would get home, no problems.  Before we left Tulsa, I put my address on the GPS and we were on our way. Katie and I tend to talk A LOT when we are driving and it's not uncommon for us to miss our exit. However, with Katie's GPS we were given a few seconds warning when our exit or turn was coming up. So we were set on our way home. Before we know it, we are in the middle of nowhere. All we could see was farmland. I said, "Katie, I don't think this is the right way." She said somethign along the lines of the GPS hasn't told us to turn around. I got my phone out and pulled up the GPS. Sure enough....we were WAY out or route. Seeing as how Clint is from Tulsa area, I called  him for help.  It was about 5:30 so I figured he would be in the stadium but hoped he would answer. He answered. I told him what had happened and where we were at. He asked where were and I said Highway 28. He exact words were, "Hnnn, I don't know where that is. I left Eric at the tailgate, I'm trying to sale 2 tickets, and find Bill. Wait, Bill is calling. I got to go." and then he hung up!!!! So he wasn't much help at all! I told Katie to pull over at this little station we were coming  up to. Seriously, it was a place straight out of a serial killer movie! There was even a big scary guy staring us down as we passed by!!!! We just kept on going. Creeper! We followed the blue dot on my GPS and finally made it back to 412! The point of this is....don't rely on GPS or Clint for help!


On the way home, we stopped at Buffalo Wild Wings to get some take out. We had planned on being home in time for kick off, but our scenic detour put us behind about 45 minutes. We got home towards the end of the 2nd quarter. Hogs won!!!

Overall it was a great day! Gracyn and Caroline had a blast! Katie and I had a great time! But most importantly.....

Looks like it's about time to convert to a toddler bed!

I dropped the side of the crib one morning to get her out of bed and forgot to put it back up. Gracyn decided she would try to crawl in bed herself. I think we will be converting to a toddler bed once she turns two....which is in only two weeks!!!

*** Disclaimer: she cannot do this when the crib side is up. So none of you grandmas need to worry that I'm leaving the crib side down so my child can flip it on her own. : )

Bee-utiful!

Just a few shots of my little bumble bee! We started the night off with a little dinner at Chick-fil-a, then went to see Daddy at work. We stopped by G-rise and Shannon's then to Aunt Jeffie's. Gracyn went to about four houses to do a little trick or treating then handed out candy to a few kids. She thought handing out candy was so funny! Every time a group of kids came to the door she would run that way saying, "Come here!" She wanted me to see what was going on too! She would just giggle at all the kids dressed up. After they would leave she would grab a piece of candy from the candy bowl put it in her bag.
