Baby Update - Week 26

Week 26

His little eyelashes are now formed! He is also getting his immune system ready for the outside world so is soaking up my antibodies!

How far along?: 26 weeks

Total weight gain: up 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes?: Sad story...I bought dish detergent last night and guess I someone got some on a pair of maternity pants and it bleached them out! That means I walked around Wal-Mart last night for an hour with bleached out pants!
Sleep: I have been sleeping very well lately!

Best moment this week: Katie pointing out the fact that we hit our third trimester next week! Also, hospital admissions called yesterday to get me pre-registered for delivery. ALREADY?!
Miss Anything?: not much this week.

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Seeing this head of lettuce makes me really want a salad or a cheeseburger with a piece of crisp iceberg lettuce on it!

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not now.

Gender prediction: It's a BOY!!!!

Looking forward to: Our trip to Tulsa to for our 3D/4D Ultrasound! Only a couple of weeks away!

Gracyn's take on the baby: She has come up with a nick name for him already...Cole-E.

Baby Update- 25 Weeks

25 Weeks

Cole's eyes have been closed for the past few months to allow the retina to develop, however, they are starting to open this week! The iris still doesn't have pigmentation, that will come in the next month or two. Will he have brown eyes like Gracyn and me? Or blue eyes like Daddy? 


How far along?: 25 weeks

Total weight gain: up 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes?: Looks like it's all maternity work pants from here.

Sleep: I have been sleeping very well lately!

Best moment this week: Hearing his little heartbeat and passing my glucose and anemia test! I was anemic with Gracyn and failed the one hour with her, but passed the three hour. Just glad I don't have to go thru that again!

Miss Anything?: not much this week.

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Nothing really this week.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not now.

Looking forward to: Clint and I are headed to Target tomorrow to register! My employees at work are wanting to throw me a shower and have been asking me for weeks now where I'm registered. It also helps that whatever is left on your registry after your due date is 10% off!
Gracyn's take on the baby: She is getting very excited for him to get here. We have a box of her old baby toys in his room and she keeps sneaking in there and playing with them.

Happy St. Patty's Day!

We had amazing weather for the first part of last weekend. It was our last open weekend for like the next 2 months! Since the weather was so nice on Friday, we decided to go to the SEC opener against Ole Miss. I got home from work a tad early and we headed for the ballpark! Unfortunately, the tickets in the seat back section was sold out so we had to settle for general admission. It's a fun area to sit in if you are with a big group of friends and cooking out, however it's also good if you have kids. Baseball can be kinda boring if you aren't really into the game so luckily Gracyn had an area to play. I prefer to sit in the stadium so I can really focus on the game. I get distracted when sitting past the outfield, especially when cops carry off drunk college kids.

Of course you have to wear a ball cap to the ballpark! Isn't she a cutie?!

You also can't go to the ballpark without getting a hot dog! She looks so focused on the game. This focus lasted about the first inning. Then she decided she wanted to play.  

She was so excited to get her picture made with Ribby the Razorback! This girl loves her hogs!



Saturday was even a nicer day! We headed to gymnastics then out to lunch. That afternoon, Gracyn and I went to the park and played for about an hour. Perfect day! Sunday morning we decided to make a St. Patrick's Day breakfast! Gracyn and I made green pancakes with a side of Lucky Charms and Green Milk to drink!

She gobbled up all of this food. Well, except the cereal. She picked out and just ate the marshmallows.



Baby Update - Week 24

Week 24

Blood vessels are developing under his skin, so his skin is looking a little pinker. His lungs are starting to develop surfactant. This substance will help his lungs expand after he is born. His nostrils have been plugged up to this point, however are starting to open this week. he will start taking practice breaths, only instead of breathing in air he will breathe in the amniotic fluid. 

How far along?: 24 weeks

Total weight gain: up 11 lbs. EEK!

Maternity clothes?:  Looks like it's all maternity work pants from here.
Sleep: I have been sleeping very well lately!

Best moment this week: Feeling Cole's kicks getting stronger and more frequently.

Movement: Yes!

Gracyn's take on the baby: She has discovered his stuffed dinosaur from Aunt Janaca and his lovey so she insists on holding them....a lot.

Baby Update- Week 23

Week 23



Cole's little face is fully formed! He now just needs to grow and add some fat to those little cheeks! If you were to look at him now, his skin would be transparent, which means we would be able to see his bones and blood vessels (creepy!)
How far along?: 23weeks
Total weight gain: up 11 lbs. EEK!

Maternity clothes?: In need of maternity jeans! I bought a regular pair of jeans a size bigger and wearing them with my bella band, but now I just look like I have saggy drawers!

Sleep: I have been sleeping very well lately!

Best moment this week: Feeling Cole move from the outside and being able to see my stomach move along with his kicks! Also, getting his furniture in and setting it up in his room!

Gracyn's take on the baby: She loves to talk to him and "tickle" him. She was very excited to wake up from nap yesterday afternoon to see Cole had furniture in his room...minus the crib.

Cover Girl!

I bought Gracyn a pair of Lelli Kelly shoes a couple of months ago that had a little toy phone with them. The phone was actually a make-up compact. She didn't pay much attention to it, which was fine by me. However, she found it in her toy box the other day and has become obsessed with it. A few days ago I let her put some make-up on me and then herself. Well, yesterday she got it out and played with it without me knowing.

You know...she actually did a great job! Now I just have to mindful to put my make-up out of reach!

Baby Update - 22 Weeks!

22 Weeks!

Cole is sleeping in cycles for a total of about 12-14 hours a day. Similiar to what he will be sleeping as a newborn. I can already predict about what times he will be awake and wiggeling around! 

How far along?: 22 weeks

Maternity clothes?: I'm thinking I will be buying some maternity jeans very soon.

Best moment this week: Just feeling Cole move.
