Week 30

Cole is just growing at this point! He is fully developed...just gaining weight and getting stronger! His little brain, which is smooth, is starting to get the wrinkles and folds in it to make room for all his brain tissue.

Total weight gain: up 15 lbs.


Maternity clothes?: yes

Sleep: I'm having to get up several times in the night to go to the bathroom. I also have to switch sides several times in the night. I wake up with my hip hurting on the side I'm laying on.

Best moment this week: Having my 3D ultrasounds pictures and video to go back and look at anytime I want!
Miss Anything?: not much this week.

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Nothing really this week.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not now.

Looking forward to: My employees are throwing me a baby shower this afternoon!!! Tomorrow, I'm headed to Little Rock for girl's weekend. I'll be picking up Cole's bedding too!
Gracyn's take on the baby: She has given Cole her little pink monkey. So she will bring it to me and lay it next to my tummy for Cole.

Week 29



Cole's bone marrow has taken over the production of red blood cells, which is preparing him to thrive on his own once born. Much of the lanugo, the soft downy hair covering his body, is beginning to disappear because now his fat and brain are regulating his body temperature.

 Total weight gain: up 15 lbs.

Maternity clothes?: yes

Best moment this week: Getting to see Cole during our 3D Ultrasound! He is a cutie!!!

Looking forward to: Girl's weekend next weekend!!! Hoping to pick up Cole's baby bedding while we are there!

Gracyn's take on the baby: She is back to being excited. She must have just had a bad week last week. She puts her hands on my belly and makes them bounce as if he is kicking her.

Flexible little guy! He has his leg up to his face and has his hand wrapped around his foot.

Devil's Den Hike

The weather was beautiful this weekend! We got up Sunday with no plans to do anything. Clint mentioned us going on a walk. I figured he meant around the block then said we should go to Devil's Den. Growing up 30 miles south of Devil's Den you would have thought I had been before, especially since we went camping. But no, I had not. So of course I was very excited to go. We just walked along the damn then down the river trail. Gracyn had a blast! She loved throwing rocks and sticks into the water. She even got to wade in the cold water! After our hike, we stopped at the park and played while Clint went to get the car. I saw so many people having a picnic lunch. We're hoping to do this again very soon and next time we will take a picnic lunch!

Baby Update - Week 28

 

Cole's little wrinkeled skin is starting to fill out with baby fat. The next few months he will triple in weight. I'm hoping he only triples and doesn't quadruple into a 9 pounder like Gracyn!
How far along?: 28 weeks

Total weight gain: up 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes?: ordered several new maternity shirts online this weekend!

Sleep: I'm having to get up in the night to go to the bathroom. I NEVER have to get up to use the bathroom...not enjoying this.
Best moment this week: Getting together with Katie for shopping and pedicures, then dinner with Katie, Amanda, and Whitney! Us four pregnant girls put away some food that night!

Looking forward to: Our trip to Tulsa to for our 3D/4D Ultrasound this week!!!

Gracyn's take on the baby: I think she is starting to realize that Cole is going to take some attention away from her. The other night I got on to her for not going to bed. She started crying and said, "I don't want a baby!" Last night she asked if I was going to have two babies. I told her yes, a sweet, little girl named Gracyn and baby boy named Cole. She said she is going to cry if I hold the new baby. Break a mother's heart!!!!

Pony Party!

This past weekend Gracyn went to Maya's 5th birthday pony party! Maya is the daughter of a girl that used to work with me at JB Hunt. I was a little hesitant to let Gracyn go since she was just getting over her sickness. She did fine though. We got there and within 3 minutes she was on a pony! This girl loves her pony rides!




This little guy wasn't part of the circle thingy...so she got to ride him around the field. After the ride she said, "this horse stepped in mud! We need to wash him!"

After a couple of pony rides, she decided to make a beaded bracelet!

Time for S'mores!!! This girl was a little obsessed with just the "roasting the marshmallow" part of making s'mores.

Yum Yum!

The rest of the time she just wanted to throw hay at the horses. After all, she was "feeding" them.

Easter Weekend

We had a pretty low key Easter weekend. Clint had to work Saturday and Sunday and Gracyn wasn't feeling well. We took her Saturday morning to get her hair cut then headed to gymnastics. On the way to gymnastics she started coughing. We got there then decided maybe we should leave since she couldn't stop coughing. She begged us to let her stay. She did fine while in class. All weekend she coughing and had a runny nose so we figured it was just allergies. Turns out she ended up running a fever and being sick most of the week. Poor girl.

That evening, Clint had to work, so Gracyn and I had a nice dinner then dyed Easter eggs. We had so much fun! I always think a dozen is plenty, but always wish I had boiled more.

The next morning she woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had hid all her eggs and filled her basket with lots of pink goodies! She got a new dance leotard and dance slippers, a Ballerina doll sticker book, bubbles, bubble bath, a Barbie movie, and a little bit of candy!

The East Bunny knew exactly what she wanted! What a smart bunny!

I just love the look on her face when she walked in and saw what the Easter Bunny had left her!

Baby UPdate - Week 27

Hello third trimester!!! Cole's little lungs are still very immature, but they would be capable of functioning if he was born today. Of course, we want him in there 13 more weeks!


How far along?: 27 weeks

Total weight gain: up 14 lbs.

Maternity clothes?: Maternity pants....it's time I purchase some tops.

Sleep: No sleep the past few days...but that is because Gracyn has been sick and up all night. : (
Best moment this week: Feeling Cole's little hiccups this morning! 

Miss Anything?: not much this week.

Movement: Yes!

Food cravings: Sausage!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not now.

Gracyn's take on the baby: Gracyn got Cole's stuffed dinosaur out of his room the other day. Clint said she needed to ask Cole if she could play with it. So she walks up to me and puts the dino up to my belly and said something along the lines of, "nana nana boo boo!" It's already started!
